The Ministry of Health Singapore is planning to transform GP clinics to be an important pillar of our healthcare system via the Healthier SG Strategy 2023. In line with this, manpower must be able to support our health ecosystem. There is high demand for GP Clinic Assistants.

The Healthcare Academy is keen to develop the clinic assistant workforce, by providing an Introductory course, which is taught by GPs and nurses.

We will focus on practical knowledge required by clinic assistants, such as the roles and duties of a GP clinic assistant, training them to use common Electronic Medical Record Software, training on patient confidentiality and communication, infection control, and procedural skills. The modules will be taught via lectures, hands-on skill training and role play. Assessment will be via Multiple Choice Questions and Practical skills. Thereafter, students will be matched with potential clinics for on-the-job training.

We believe that our course will help to fulfill an unmet need in our society and will give our students a leg up in the working world.
